Life Learnings:

One person can make a BIG difference

Empathy makes way for transparency and love. Love creates better relationships and work

Preparation is crucial. It allows for intention, meaning, and consistency

[5/3/20] Every human beings life is a byproduct of their nonconscious thoughts

[6/20/20] ‪The best way to truth is asking good questions.‬

[6/21/20] Many, many people aren’t crazy, weird, odd, psycho.....they just have insecurities and fears that are being masked by their egos and even more fear

[9/21/20] Basics and fundementals are more important to master than complexity. The former builds to the later through repetition.

[9/24/20] "Anticipation for our vices pulls us into the future. Eliminating vices makes it easier to be present." (Naval Ravikant)

[9/25/20]

"It's much better to go down a path your willing ot suffer, instead of unwillingly suffering." (9/25/20 when talking to Saalik during our WPC jam session)

"Passive work (planning, organizing, dreaming) is an investment in making active work (getting the thing done) frictionless, effective, and inspiring. The balance between both is the challenge" (Saalik's tweet based on our talks discussion point after our WPC jam session)

[10/3/20] One step at a time. I start slow and do a good job, but let opportunities that are out of my reach make me go too fast for this current moment I'm in. I can be too ambitious and get ahead of myself at times - to a fault.

[10/5/20] Important lesson lately: crush expectations in the beginning of a project. Use humility to do so. Use your vision to do so

Also, it's all about understanding, not "right" or "wrong"

[10/10/20] A weakness can be a stepping stone for a strength.

Everyone is figuring it out as they go. So, always keep a "Day 1" learner mindset. "I don't know what I'm doing" can be an unlock to further happiness and confidence through the gates of humility

[Thought on 10/12/20] My “overthinking” that myself and others used to think was so “bad”, can actually be a great way to prepare extra hard and live by this quote of “plans are useless, but planning is essential”.

[10/21/20] Investment approach - when correct and learnings from SNAP Inc.

Business Learnings:

  • Just show up everyday and do the work
  • "My biggest fear is growing up" (Maruf)
  • "Never summit a mountain by yourself - grow with the people you love" (Maruf)
  • Tim Ferriss is a great mentor to all and middleman of connections to many
  • Using the Tim Ferriss method (although it can be coined as something else) of using your label within a startup or company to get access to many things - documents, internal employees, external people of the company, resources - is underrated and underrused because of that
  • “Progress always involves risk; you can’t steal second base and keep your foot on first.” (Frederick Wilcox)
    • Leviticus 26:10 (Fidel sent me this)
    • What are you willing to give up in order to progress forward? (AJD III)
  • Preperation is ABSOLULETLY vital to success
  • Things to master in 2020 and beyond:
    1. image
    2. Influence mastery
    3. Process mastery
    4. Self mastery
  • Authenticity attracts abundance
  • Everything starts with belief (it's a mindset damnittt)
  • [2/27] Crossing a new discomfort and pain threshold this week. Must keep going.
  • [Reiki session with Gabbie]
    • Love yourself and others will love you.
    • Say "no" more (the intention behind that is to use my energy smarter in order to give more and be more present)
      • I can't please everyone and give to everyone
        • I can have anything I want but not everything I want
  • LA for a week
    • Have clarity on what I want - clear intention
    • Be interested, not interesting
    • Everyone has different values. Know that
    • [9/21/20] When pitching others, simplification is key!

    • Realized this after the Mastermind retreat taking to long to finalize

[3/24/20] I am learning a ton of humility within just Q1 of 2020

[3/25/20] “Simplicity and what we did when we we were younger is often the answer to what we need solutions for when we’re older.”

[3/26/20] Seeing the BIGGER picture can also be referred to as the “thirty-thousand-foot view” or the “Archimedean Point”

[4/1/20) [COVID-19 realization] Something I noticed during this recession and pandemic: it takes about 2-3 weeks for people to adjust to the norm and for people to re-establish or officially establish routines and habits

[4/29/20] Crisis brings you back to your roots. On a self level and business level.

[5/11/20] You can't scale if you don't get your foundation right in the beginning. Even if you do, your success will bring you toppling down because of an unstable foundation.

  • Example:
    • Dream BIG didn't have a set vision as of May 2020 (still). So, it caused us to rethink why we were doing what we were doing. We couldn't be both a media company and creative agency. We had to choose one. And thank God this happened now rather than later. We saved our self a ton of failure and mistakes
    • In the beginning, it's important to get your foundation right. It's important to iterate your product until it is actually useful. Only from there can it be scaled out and used by the masses
      • And that's another topic for another day. Scaling is hard in and of itself
    • Great quote to remember here:

[7/10/20] Just emphasizing what I said here. It is important to work smart, have good models/systems, and be going in the correct direction.

  • [7/28/20] Just here to emphasize this even more.

[7/31/20] A conversation with Rama Poola made into a LinkedIn post (what up Z haha):

[8/9/20] Conversation with Job today

Something I saw on Twitter about sales and marketing on 9/27/20:
